Curriculum and Supplies
The ultimate goal of studying science is to bring glory to God and enjoy Him as we experience the intricate details of His creation. “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” Romans 1:20
The study of biology encompasses all living things, thus making it overwhelming to study in one year. Because of the extensive amount of information covered in the Biology text, we have divided the content into a two year study: Biology I and Animal Biology (offered again in 2020-2021). Each course is a comprehensive, high school lab science class designed to expand the student’s knowledge of the unity, diversity, and complexity of living things. Students receive one lab science credit for each year. Plan for about 45-60 minutes of homework each day, 3 days per week.
Biology I content: Scientific Method, ATP and energy, Cells, DNA, Genetics and Heredity
Taxonomy, Bacteria, Protozoans, Fungi, Plants, Scientific Method
